Marie's history:

Marie was adopted by Elena while she was still dating Greg Turner. I was having trouble with the bus not coming to pick up the kids and take them to school. I still couldn't get it to work, but Marie was there now nonetheless. Elena sent her to boarding school at the first sign that the bus problem wouldn't be fixed.

In her first few days of school while still in the neighborhood, she met Dawson Creek (yes, a joke name... sometimes I can't help myself), and they became friends. When Marie left for boarding school, Dawson really missed her.

Not long after Marie aged to teen, John and Elena got married. Marie had met John a few times on her trips home, and she liked him better than Greg. At John and Elena's wedding, she was sent home (kicked out pretty much) from boarding school. John was happy to have her home, and convinced Elena to let her stay instead of trying to find another school for her.

Marie had an easy time making new friends at the community school. Dawson, of course, was very happy she was back. He was interested in her romantically, but he had a girlfriend already and didn't want to hurt Cristina's feelings.

Marie met Dawson's brother Andy (whom I've called Alex several times and I need to fix that.). He was a senior, and she a freshman. She fell head over heels for him, stars in her eyes and everything. He was a very, ahem, attentive boyfriend. However, when he aged to adult, he broke it off with her, thinking that it was inappropriate for him to continue to date her. Andy told her at the time that they could resume dating when she became an adult as well, but things have since happened to get in the way of that.

Firstly, the day that Andy planned on breaking up with Marie, he made the mistake of telling his brother Dawson his plans. Dawson, in turn, made the mistake of telling his best friend, Armand, over the phone what Andy planned. Armand had secretly harbored a crush on Marie, and jumped at the chance to ask her to prom. Literally (the game did this too, much to my happy surprise) just as the door closed as Andy left the house, Marie's phone rang and it was Armand. Marie didn't see any reason why she shouldn't go to prom with him, so she said yes. At prom, Armand asked her to go steady, and again, Marie didn't see a reason to say no. She and Armand dated all throughout high school.

However, in gaining a girlfriend in Marie, Armand lost his best friend. Dawson was furious that Armand asked Marie to prom and then later to be his girlfriend. He knew Armand knew he liked Marie. Dawson still doggedly maintained his friendship with Marie and his relationship with Cristina, but he always hoped that one day he'd get his chance with Marie. Armand sensed this and it would drive him crazy at times, making him constantly wary.

When they all (finally) graduated high school, Cristina moved away. (actually, I could never get her into a household to save her from the deletion I had to do thanks to error code 12, but I just say that she moved away for the story's sake) Armand panicked because he knew nothing stood in the way of Dawson pursuing Marie now except him, and he wasn't sure if he could hang on to her through that. In his panic, Armand and Marie had a huge fight, and he called her a conniving whore among other things that he now regrets.

Dawson did take the opportunity that arose with their breakup, and asked Marie out. He'd worried he'd have to resort to other, less gentlemanly ways to get her, but he was happy to not have to do that. However, that very same day Armand calls Marie and asks her if they could talk one-on-one. Armand discovers that he's just a few hours too late, and Marie is already going out with Dawson. He asks Marie to give him another chance anyway. So, now she's dating the two of them.

Dawson, at the start of their date, has no idea that Marie agreed to go out with Armand again only a few hours after he'd asked her out. He finds this out when he asks Marie to date him exclusively and she explains to him that she just can't. He's furious. To him, Armand has already had his chance and blew it. He doesn't think Armand deserves another chance. Now he just has to convince her of that.

But what about Andy? ....

(and that brings you up to update 101A)
